Welcome and thank you for visiting the new Roma Races website.

It has been months in the making, but it is finally here. We welcome any comments, suggestions or problems that may come up as you browse through.

Roma Races is collaborative project brought to you by the Roma Picnic Race Club and Roma Turf Club with the aim of promoting thoroughbred racing events in the Roma district.

Roma is renowned for its country racing and could be mistaken for being the racing capital of Queensland.

There are eight Race Meets a year with the Roma Picnic Races and Roma Cup the feature events on the racing calendar.

The Roma Picnic Race Club holds the annual prestigious Roma Picnic Races. Often dressed to the nines in the latest season’s race fashions, the crowds come to experience the transformation from an outback town into country sophistication steeped with time-honoured tradition.

An Annual Black Tie Ball is held on the night before the race meet to kick-start the weekend.

The Roma Turf Club holds seven races a year with the “Roma Cup” being the most dynamic event on south-west Queensland’s social calendar.

The Cup is an action-packed meet in the true spirit of country racing and the locals know how to throw a good party. Just don’t forget your swag!

Fashion on the field is taken extremely seriously at the various race meets with the “coat and tie” dress standard is refreshingly maintained.
