$15,000 on Offer at Inky & Moss Fashions on the Field
After a pandemic-induced hiatus in 2020, the Inky & Moss Fashions on the Field looks set to be a huge highlight of the Roma Picnic Races on Saturday March 27.
Thanks to the generous support of their sponsors, the Roma Picnics Committee have supercharged the prize pool with up to $15,000 worth of goodies up for grabs.
“We know most ladies need a little incentive to put themselves out there on the catwalk so we’ve really worked hard to make sure they are well rewarded,” Fashions on the Field coordinator Sarah Parkinson said.
“We’ve got amazing accommodation packages from Peninsular Resort at Mooloolaba and The Docks on Goodwin in Brisbane, diamond earrings from Robert White Jewellery valued at $6000 and very generous vouchers from local Roma businesses like Coomber Bros Jewellers, Susie’s Gifts Galore and the Bungil Creek Motel.”
This year Roma-based fashion and homewares specialist Inky & Moss has come on board as the naming sponsor.
Inky & Moss has a big following throughout regional Queensland and beyond with their flagship Roma store well supported by a busy online shop and strong social media presence.
Owner Chrissy Chandler has been a keen supporter of the Roma Picnics over many years and said the event held special significance for her.
“My husband Gus and I have very fond memories of many Roma Picnics and I’m thrilled to be sponsoring,” Chrissy said.
“For us, it’s just about supporting a great local event that brings our community together every year in a very special way.
“There’s no other event that feels quite like the Roma Picnics.”
Chrissy will join James White from Robert White Jewellery and Morgan Cloherty from Frocked Dress Hire on the judging panel while local lady Donaugh Shirley will act as the Master of Ceremonies.
Chrissy said it was tough to pick a favorite trend for 2021 but noted the Roma Picnics’ catwalk always attracted high-level fashion.
“What I really love about fashion is that anything goes and I love that there will be so many different outfits, colours and patterns. There really are no rules,” she said.
“I can’t wait to see what everyone is wearing and I especially love that this year we’ll be seeing the most gorgeous dresses and skirts paired with sneakers. This is by far my favourite fashion trend so far.”
Four categories will be hotly contested:
- Alex Taylor Classic Lady
- Contemporary Lady
- Best Headwear
- Best dressed Couple
- Prizes are awarded to the winner and runner-up with a gift for all finalists in each category. Entries will open from 12pm with judging to take place just after 3pm.
