About Roma Renowned as the ‘Energy of the West’ Roma is located in south-west Queensland approximately 5.5 hours west of the state’s capital, Brisbane. With a population of 8000 residents Roma is a prominent farming region and home to some of Australia’s most pioneering ‘bushies’. Getting to Roma Half the fun of the weekend at the Picnics is getting to Roma. With planes, trains and automobiles departing Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney and other regions frequently - travel to Roma is easy. If you are traveling by car from Brisbane be sure to take in the scenic surrounds of rich farmland as you pass through the Darling Downs and across the Great Dividing Range. COACH CHARTER: Getting around Once you arrive in Roma whether it be by plane, train or automobile your transport needs are taken care of. Complementary buses traveling from all hotels and motels to the race course and back again run throughout the duration of the day and night. While you're there The Roma Turf Club conducts race meetings throughout the year, including Easter In The Country Race Meet and the Roma Cup in November.
